McCarthy was right

let's open this up with some background according to major information sources on the internet. this is what the web's shining bastion of free speech aka. wikipedia currently has to say about the late great American hero Joseph R. McCarthy:

He was a U.S. Senator from the state of Wisconsin from 1947 until his death in 1957. Beginning in 1950, McCarthy became the most visible public face of a period in the United States in which Cold War tensions fueled fears of widespread Communist subversion. He is known for alleging that numerous Communists and Soviet spies and sympathizers had infiltrated the United States federal government, universities, film industry, and elsewhere. The term "McCarthyism" was coined in 1950 in reference to McCarthy's practices, was soon applied to similar anti-communist activities. Today, the term is used in reference to what are considered demagogic, reckless, and unsubstantiated accusations, as well as public attacks on the character or patriotism of political opponents.

furthermore, here is what wikipedia says on the term McCarthyism:

It is the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence.

for the longest time i believed these "facts" at face value, or did not even know about them at all. i kept my head in the sand and accepted that this is what happened.. this is what we are taught in school, this is what the mainstream media touts as truth and this is what many of us have come to believe without question.. but like most things in life: it's vastly more complicated (and interesting) then all that.

what i would like to do today is offer you an alternative definition of McCarthyism, a more accurate and realistic definition that includes the pre and post historical events (including JFK and Nixon's involvement) that surrounded his heroic actions which led to the coining of this slanderous term. it has been said, "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it," and i believe this has never been more relevant then in todays political climate. not a day passes in which i do not recieve some kind of news notification on my phone or on my television about some kind of president trump-russian connection and i believe there is a good reason why this narrative (which has been embarrasingly and completely discredited) came in to being. at the end of the day it was not politicians or the military or even the intelligence community which saved america from the communist threat (if we are to be saved at all).. it was the moral fortitude of christians and the conscience's of communist defectors who knew all too well that socalism (and it's end goal: communism) always ends in starvation and genocide.

so without any further delay, here is the singluar 3-hour video which completely changed my mind and my view of one of the most important events in recent US history: a true hero's journey for the modern age. i would suggest getting comfortable because you are in for a master class in historical truth, and remember: you always get the most flak when you are over the target.

still here? well, as a bonus.. here is the 1984 story from the other point of view: the ex-KGB officer and Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov who decided to openly reveal KGB's subversive tactics against western society as a whole.
